Designed to be clear and concise, The Slice News is delivered as briefs for on-the-go consumption.  We offer  aggregated news headlines and original content that features stories from around the nation and world, appealing primarily to African American interests. We are focused on spreading the the truth through journalism that is easy to understand and trust.  Dedicated to the documenting  the accomplishments and adverse experiences of our life and times, The Slice News places a premium on accuracy and documenting  facts responsibly over personalities or  popularity.  We call it #ritghteousreporting.  Based in the Capitol area, the Slice has drawn a nationwide audience and digital readers from various parts of the world. 

 

There are two digital imprints of the news brand generally referred to as the Slice Report, the newsslice.blogspot.com, created in 2010 and the new http://www.theslicenews.com, created in 2020.   Born out of the News Slice Blog, the companion radio report, "The Slice Report," is available as a  daily news vignette with a  more  robust weekly wrap-up of news and public affairs in Washington and Hollywood, airing in 40 markets and 120+ stations nationally on the Urban Choice Media, formerly the  property of ABC Music Radio.
 

The Slice media family  was the brainchild of well-established independent  journalist and radio broadcaster Mona Austin, who is now serving at the White House under a third president. For over a decade Austin has been a reliable voice for both readers and listeners, serving as the producer and talent behind the written and on-air content. Austin is the sole news resource reporting from the White House to the uniquely combined Urban African American, mainstream and faith based audiences as a White House Correspondent.
