A Call for Black and White Christians to Unify on Combatting Racism


(The Slice): Pastor Jentezen Franklin said Blacks are not cursed and are the first chosen by God to carry the cross of Jesus, tearing down centuries false religious notions that oppressed them The prominent Georgia pastor spoke with two Black leaders on a TBN Praise the Lord special on race in response to the death of George Floyd. Franklin condemned the killing and overuse of police force. He illustrated the value of Black lives by invoking a spiritual foundation for equality that refutes the racist ideals White Supremacists have attempted to justify with the Bible.


The international network is airing various clips of White Evangelical preachers calling for unity in standing with Blacks in fighting injustice in the United States. "The answer is always Jesus," said Matt Crouch.


The nessage of Franklin and the network is stronger than ever before toward resolving instutionalized racisn not only in the country, but also for the Body of Christ.
