The bi-partisan PACT Act passed in the Senate on Tuesday night. The measure was approved by a vote of 86-11. This $280 billion package offers medical provisions for veterans who were exposed to toxic burn pits while serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The PACT Act expands health coverage for millions of former military service members had who previously encountered problems getting free treatment at the VA for ailments that could be linked to burn pit exposure. Being in the vacinity of the toxic air caused a range of physical problems from respiratory issues to cancer occuring in vets who worked near burn pits where trash, waste, and medical equipment had been disposed.

Pres. Joe Biden will sign te PACT Act into law on August 8.
