Actor/Comedian Bob Saget (who played the father on "Full House") has died at the age of 65. He had performed at a comedy show the night before in Orlando Florida before being be discovered unresponsive in his room at the Ritz-Carlton hotel on Jan. 9. Police do not suspect foul play.
He shared his funny side for 8 seasons on "Full House" and later became the affable host on another beloved family-friendly program, "America's Funniest Home Vides."
As Danny Tanner, a single father to three little girls he was one of the most recognized TV dads to ever play the role. The storyline revolved around a widowed father asking his brother-in-law to move in to his San Francisco home to help him raise his children. He gave endless advise on the immensely popular show.
News of his sudden death shocked his family. "We are devastated to confirm that our beloved Bob passed away today," the Saget family said in the statement. "He was everything to us and we want you to know how much he loved his fans, performing live and bringing people from all walks of life together with laughter."
Mr. Saget is survived by a wife and 3 adult daughters. He married Kelly Rizzo in 2018 at a ceremony in Santa Monica, California. His ex-wife is Sherri Kramer.
Fellow entertainers flooded social media with tributes that mainly recalled he was a nice man.
John Stamos, who played Jesse Katsopolis, Saget's roommate on Full House was the first cast member to respond publicly. The two apparently shared fraternal relationship outside of their work together and there was a sense he was devastated by the loss. "I am broken. I am gutted. I am in complete and utter shock. I will never ever have another friend like him. I love you so much Bobby," Stamos wrote.
Details about the precise cause of death from the medical examiner were not avilabe at press time.
