Pres. Donald Trump signed a barrage of executive orders following his Monday inauguration aimed at transforming the way the government operated under Joe Biden and democratic rule. The orders impact government, foreign policy and society.
Two of the 26 orders directly address culture wars around the politics of race and sex in America. In one, Trump said the government will officially recognize sex instead of gender within the federal government, removing certain LGBT-Q rights that were entangled in everything from public bathroom usage battles, the military paying for sexual reassignment surgeries to participation in co-ed sports. He also mandated the end of socially engineered programs like DEI and will implement a merit-based systems to give everyone a fair shot at opportunities in government work.
Critics see overturning race conscious hiring as a precision Rights set back that will have a widespread negative impact on African Americans.
One of the most consequential order is the full stop mandate on immigration. The immigration system has been shut down and mass deportation us underway effective immediately. The president told reporters in the Oval Office that his ICE raids will soon occur in large cities with high concentration of illegal aliens.
Another big change that has drawn criticism from Democrats is the pardoning of jailed Jan. 6th rebels who he says did not act alone. He justified this action saying the perpetrators were treated unfairly.
On the Foreign Policy front Trump has withdrawn from the Paris Climate Accord a second time.
Trump signed some EOs at the Capitol One arena after the inauguration parade in front of his supporters and some in the Oval Office on Monday night.
The 47th president has dubbed his second term "The Golden Age of America." prmising a new dawn of prosperity and growth.
