(The Slice): The government is offering tax credits for home improvements that boost energy efficiency under the Inflation Reduction Act.
The incentive also applies to certain appliances. The use of induction stoves, the preferred green energy cooking device is an example of a qaulifying appliance upgrade.
For residential improvements, if you are Installing alternative energy equipment in your home such as solar panels, heat pumps, windows, doors and roofing, you may qualify for a credit up to 30% of your total cost.
A broad selection of ENERGY STAR certified equipment is eligible for the tax credits for home improvments.
Keep in mind, these changes to the home can also affect your lifestyle. Do the research before making a decision that you must live with long term. The transition from traditional cooking, such as on a gas stove, can be quite an adjustment. since they work with special pots. When considering an induction stove, know that all pots and pans are not compatible with them. On yhe ither hand, reseatch shows that homes with gas stoves have been linked to breathing problems, especially in children. What ever you choose, if it is healthier fir the environment, you may have double the benefit with a tax break.
