GYMNASTICS G.O.A.T.: Simone Biles wins 7th title on road to 2021 Olympic Games

At 24, Simone Biles has secured "GOAT" status in the sport of gymnastics.

 

Standing at 4'8" Simone Biles is a giant in the field of gymnastics and everyone knows it. Last weekend, she snatched her seventh Women's National all around title, making history as the female gymnast with the highest number of title wins. She led with a score of 119.650 points, The runner-up, Sunisa Lee earned 114.950 points. Biles' teammate Jordan Chiles came in third place with 114.450 points. This is the reason she has an image of a rhinestone goat on her uniform. The win cemented her as the "greatest of all time" in the sport of gymnastics, a nickname she has grown accustomed to hearing.


Biles, a 4-time Olympic Gold medalist is preparing for the Olympic trials in Japan this summer. With a winning reputation she is expected to make the team, but has not secured her spot yet. Held in Fort Worth, TX, Biles swept the competition, taking first place in floor, beam and vault, as well as placing first overall.


Last month, Biles became the first woman to successfully complete a Yurchenko double pike vault routine - a move previously only attempted by men, Newsweek reports. Biles, a 4-time Olympic Gold medalist is preparing for the Olympic trials in Tokyo, Japan this summer. Olympic team trials will be held from June 24 to 27. The top two all-around finishers will automatically qualify for the Olympic team.
