(TSN); Asians and Indians have gotten more recognition than before at the 95th Academy Awards. A big upset went to "Naatu Naatu" from RRR winning for Best Orginal Song. It bested all English songs. M.M. Keeravani composed the music and l Chandrabose wrote the lyrics in the Telugu-language.

“Naatu Naatu” beat out songs from four English-language films to score the trophy: “Lift Me Up” from “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” sung by pop icon Rihanna; “This Is a Life” from “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” performed by Mitski; “Applause” from “Tell It Like a Woman,” penned by Diane Warren and sung by Sofia Carson; and Lady Gaga’s soaring “Top Gun: Maverick” ballad, “Hold My Hand.”

This is just the second time in history that an Indian film has won in the over 99 year history of th3 award show. "Slumsog Millionaire" won the Osacr for Best Song in 2009.
