After 25 years, the baliff on Judge Judy has been cancelled. Judy Justice is a new show starring Judy Sheindilin that premieres on Nov. 1 on ImDB TV, which he won't be taking part in. Petri Hawkins Byrd, 63 was not invited to to join the fiesty judge in her new venture. In a statement to people she said, "Byrd is terrific and we had a great 25-year run. This is a whole new program with a whole new cast and an exciting energy."
Byrd tells Entertainment TV that he just didn't think to inquire about the next move when they wrapped recording the final season of the original "Judge Judy" in April because his focus was on taking care of his wife Makita Bond-Byrd, a longtime producer on the show, who had brain surgery. Kevin Rasco, Sheindlin's former personal body gaurd, is the baliff on the new show.
"I didn't have time to think about or ask about Judy Justice. It wasn't until July that I called the judge and asked, 'Hey, should I look for something else or am I included in the Judy Justice project?'" Byrd, a man of few qwords on the show recalled when opening up to ET. "My assumption is if you were going on to do something else, that you were at least going to ask me if I wanted to have the opportunity to audition for the role."
Byrd made an apperance on "Bold and the Beautiful" and has done some voice over work, but says he know God has something else for him.
