Rep. Liz Cheney the ousted Republican co-chair of the Jan 6th investigation committee made public text messages of FOX news personalities who contacted former Chief of Staff to Pres. Donald Trump Mark Meadows urging him to ask Trump to condemn Capitol rioters
Laura Ingram, Brian Kilmeade and Sean Hannity all sent urgent messages to Meadows to have the POTUS intervene. Publicly, the pro-Trump hosts continued to support Him, but privately they were very concerned about how the siege would affect the GOP as a whole.
His son Donald Trump, Jr. chimed in separately asking that his father "condemn this s--t ASAP. The Capitol Police tweet is not enough."
This level of detail was not mentioned in the book "Chief of the Chiefs" that Meadows authored revealing. He turned over the cell phone records as evidence to the committee, however.
Meadows is being held in contempt for refusing to appear before the House Select Committee. It is not clear if or how Meadows broached the subject with the Commander-in-Chief. Trump responded in a video address continuing to validate the attack by calling the election he lost fraudulent.
