The plans to memorialize Sen. Bob Dole have been set and will be observed over several events.
The flag is flying at half staff for the late Senator Bob Dole through tomorrow. The remebrance ceremonies begin when his body lays in state at the Capitol rotunda at 10 AM on Thursday. Biden called Dole a "giant of our history" in a private ceremony held at the Capitol as he lies in state on Thursday. The funeral service will be held at the Washington National Cathedral, followed by a public ceremony at the World War II Memorial.
FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS
President Joe Biden will speak at the Senator's private memorial service at Washington National Cathedral on Dece
mber 10 at 11 AM. The funeral will be livestreamed on large screens at the National World War II Memorial on the National Mall. At 1:15 PM, Senator Dole's motorcade and casket will pause at the Memorial for a ceremony honoring his life and military service. Remarks and tributes will be offered by close friends of the Doles, General Mark A. Milley, 20th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Tom Hanks, Academy Award-winning actor, and Savannah Guthrie, TODAY co-host. Senator Elizabeth Dole will lay a wreath in honor of her late husband.
