The Los Angeles Rams sack the first Superbowl win for their hometown

Blue and yellow confetti rained down in SoFi Stadium as Sean McVay, 36 became the youngest head coach to win a Super Bowl in the City of Angeles Sunday night. His leadership and the performances of several standout players bought the Los Angeles team their first Superbowl victory in their history right in their hometown. The Rams accomplished the ultimate defeat after they lost star receiver Odell Beckham, Jr. to an injury. He had given them a solid lead early in the contest.

It did not look like the Rams were going to hold the Cincinnati Bengals off since they quickly scored a TD in the opening of the show down and immediately after halftime Tee Higgins scored a second. But the Rams bucked their opponents advances, stopping Bengals QB Joe Burrow, an LSU alum, from converting a pass to a field goal in the fourth quarter. Then, Cooper Kupp dashed in for the catch that score the final last-minute touch down for a dramatic win. A block from Aaron Donald with one minute left on the clock followed by a rising roar from the crowd was confirmation that the Rams had sacked the 23-20 win.

Kupp was named the Superbowl 56 MVP.

In addition to snagging the coveted Superbowl ring, the Rams earn a traditional trip to Disneyworld and a the honor of visiting the White House.
