The Last O.G. Season 4 airs on Tuesdays on TBS at 10:30 EST
Many of the experiences Tracy Morgan has as Tray Barker, in The Last O.G. are parallel to his real life . Season 4 opens with his family surrounding his hospital bed and praying for him to come out of a coma. (In real life, in 2014 the actor and comedian was injured in a near tragic car accident that took a few years of recovery.) On the show, he had been shot and it looked as if he would not make it. Tray pulls through but is wheelchair bound for a while.
Season 4 opened with back-to-back episodes. There are 8 more left. In episode 3 Tray finds his purpose -- to become a community servant. The former prisoner has to work for the forgiveness of family members of th epeople he hurt in the past.
There are several additions to the cast including Janet Herbert ("Aunt Viv" from the Fresh Prince of Bel Aire) and Malik Yoba and one major ommission. Tiffany Haddish, the mother of Tray's two children, did not return this season.
The Last O.G., created by Jordan Peele and John Carcieri, first premiered in 2018. The series follows ex-convict Barker after his release from prison on good behavior. He attempts to reintegrate into society and stay of of trouble, wich seemed to be successful until he caught a bullet that was intended for his cousin Bobby.
Tray's girlfriend is scared to be around him. SHe wears a bullet proof vest because the assailants who shot Tray were never caught and arrested. Uncomfortable with the circumstances, she gave Tray an untimatum to choose her or to report who shot him to police. He spent 15 years in jail for not snitching before and even though he had genuine feeling for his love interest he chose street cred over her.
An all new episode airs on Nov. 2.
