A statement on April 26 from the new press secretary of Vice President Kamala Harris, Kirsten Allen, confirmed that Harris has the Coronavirus. Harris traveled to the West Coast last week. Her husband, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff carried the virus in mid March and was isolated from the veep. The spread that has broken out over the last month in both Washington and the White House is getting closer and closer to Pres. Joe Biden who is in a vulnerable age range.
Statement
Vice President Harris tested positive for COVID-19 on rapid and PCR tests. She has exhibited no symptoms, will isolate and continue to work from the Vice President’s residence. She has not been a close contact to the President or First Lady due to their respective recent travel schedules. She will follow CDC guidelines and the advice of her physicians. The Vice President will return to the White House when she tests negative.
